    but the first link gave me an incomplete dwnld and the second link shuts the browser off when the link is loaded. I’m now really sufferring with NewFolder.exe and TopPictures.exe. Please help me.

    i use windows xp professional (sp2) and have been facing this problem due to some stupid virus.
    Here is a long list of symptoms visible::

    * The task manager is SOMETIMES disabled; same goes with Folder options, but whenever it appears it doesnt show Options under “Hidden files and folders”.
    When I try to “Search” for something, it doesnt search. The task manager lables this as (Not Responding)

    * Some windows like IE, cmd get closed immediately as they are opened.

    * These tasks which definitely seem to be worms/viruses are visible in Process Explorer and task manager::
    -blank.doc
    -unoccupied.reg
    -hole.zip
    -empty.jpg
    -zero.txt
    They are located(as shown in Process Explorer) in “windows\system32\dllcHache\”. Note the spelling of “cache” in “dllchache” in the mentioned path.

    * more files recognized as possible viruses by me were:
    “system32.exe” (has a folder icon) in Windows directory
    sometimes even sscvihost.exe in “\windows\system32″
    dllchache.exe in “\windows\system32″ (same spelling mistake of ‘cache’ to ‘chache’).

    * a file with name AUT0EXEC.bat (is only visible in the recovery console of windows installation CD) is present in the system drive…..note that 0(zero) has got masked by upper case Letters (it actually is aut0exec.bat)!!!!!
    but it couldnt be seen in Notepad.

    * there are 2 files of this kind:: lsass.exe and isass.exe(i dont know which one is safe..)

    * I also find this mysterious file::: “(Read Me)Pendekar Blank.txt” in C:\ which reappears on deleting and contains the following text in some language unknown to me:
    “Salam Kenal Buat User yang sedang Aktif di Komputer ini
    Saya adalah Pendekar Blank 1, Program yang dibuat oleh seseorang yang ingin
    memberantas kejahatan di muka bumi ini dan saya dikirim ke sini untuk:
    1. Mencoba memberantas virus-virus lokal yang sudah menyebar di Indonesia
    2. Mencoba mengamankan komputer ini dari infeksi virus lokal, dan
    3. Mencoba menghalangi anda untuk berbuat sesuatu yang tidak perlu dilakukan di komputer ini
    Itulah 3 Misi saya setelah dikirim ke komputer ini
    Mohon maaf apabila nantinya terdapat kesalahan-kesalahan selama melakukan 3 misi diatas
    Mudah-mudahan anda adalah orang baik yang mempergunakan komputer pada jalan yang benar”
    will u please help me in understanding the above text???

    * all these files appear again on deleting. And also reappear when “killed” using KillBox software
    I couldnt recognize any other files.
    I have also tried removing them from recovery console, but it vain.

    I remember seeing the files “New Folder.exe”, “Funny scandal….” on my system and downloaded their removal tools which did not work.
    So i think this is of some different kind.
    Whenever I connect my pen drive, all folders present in it get replaced by virus files of their names(these too possess folder icons).
    I use windows 98 inorder to delete these files(none of these symptoms are seen in Win 98).

    I would be grateful if u could help me in resolving this……

    I have tried the following two options also:

    “Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
    Go to this key:

    In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1″

    4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t, delete the key.
    5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
    6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally.

    then taskkill /PID (PID NO)
    PID No is no which is shown in front of windowsexplorer.exe in tasklist command
    and then
    go to c:\windows\ delete windows explorer.exe(it is seen as a folder in c:\windows) and then search Newfolder.exe with size less than 105kb and include hidden file.and delete all the file now ur computer is free from newfolder.exe

    3. Next go to Controlpanel ==> Folder options, choice TAB View and @ advanced settings:
    Choice Show Hidden files and folder
    Unmark Hide extensions for known file types
    Unmark Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)

    4. Search and delete file contain of the virus :

    c:\windows\system32\dllchache\zero.txt
    c:\windows\system32.exe

    5. Clean and Repair registry
    Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER,Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
    \Run,Secure32
    Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER,Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
    \Run,Secure64
    Delete HKEY_LOCALMACHINE,Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
