hey,its coz of a virus.. do follwing steps
1.START-> run->cmd
2.Type as foll:
3.cd\
4.attrib -r -h -s autorun.inf
5.del autorun.inf
(now put same for D: and do steps for each drive u have & restart)

My show hidden files option does not work…whenever I click on show hidden files, it automatically transfer to Do not show hidden files. what is this.. no anti-virus or windows malicious software removal tool can fix it.

I can not use regedit either. It says that my system administrator has disabled it. But i am the administrator and im sure i didnt do that.

it did not work ,
So I went to Right click My Computer –> Manage –> Disk Management
but there is the drive but there is no amount space…?
there is no media..
Disk1 removable then no media
when i change the drive letter and right click it again the only options are CHANGE DRIVE LETTER , PROPERTIES , AND HELP..
THAT’S IT I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME…

when i try to partition and format it using a bootable winxp it said there is no drive but it detect the usb..

same in my computer and right click the drive letter of the usb but it prompted: there is no disk on drive

i really appreciate if you can help me!

None of the above options worked for me. It occured because of virus/trojan — cvasds01.dll. Norton, avast, malwarebytes,superantispyware were unable to solve it. I used “Spyware doctor” and the problem was entirely solved for me.

I have tried your punch line
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Unfortunately that did not work for me .. then i have tried the SVR that too did not work for me.. registry editor is still disabled .. windows 7 pro is what i am using.

Do u think i need to use the Avenger to delete the registry key.. shall i try that or do you have a tool
