There is a Trojan/virus (either the Win32/Pacex virus or the Win32/PSW.Agent.NDP trojan) that uses the two files ntde1ect and autorun.inf Here is how you can get rid of them:

• Open Task Manager and in Processes tab end explorer.exe and wscript.exe process
• Open up File –> New Task (Run) in the Task manager
• Type cmd and hit Enter
• Type
  del /a:h /f c:\autorun.*
• Go to your Windows\System32 directory by typing cd c:\windows\system32
  Type dir /a:h /f avp*.*
   If you see any files names avpo.dll or avpo.exe or avpo.exe, use the     

  Del /a:h /f avpo.exe

• Open up File –> New Task (Run) in the Task manager, Type regedit
• Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  If there are any entries for avpo.exe, delete them.
  Do a complete search of your registry for ntdelect.com and delete any entries you find.
• To Restore Folder Options Settings, Navigate to
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

          Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

         Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t,  delete the key.Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally.

Have you tried Yahoo Messenger 9 yet? It was released last week but still in Beta.

For me, there are not many new features found in the new Yahoo Messenger 9 except the interface. You can choose your favourite skin from 7 skins available. The skins are nice but some people said that this new Yahoo Messenger uses more memory compares to the previous version. This new version also included with 6 new emoticons.

Because of this version is in Beta stage, I found a bug when I received a file from my friend. Maybe it just happens to me, I don’t know but I hope their programmers can check this problem for further investigation.

The bug was found when my friend ( using version 8 ) sends a .rtf file to my Yahoo Messenger 9. The file was successfully downloaded but when I opened it in MS Word, the file look like this :

As you can see, there are extra lines in the file. The original content is the line start with the “1. Deadlock…” withouth the \par. Not sure whether Yahoo Messenger 9 decode the file wrongly while downloading or something else.

Sometimes I wonder how our lives would be if there were no computers and this gigantic internet which has transformed the whole world into a web where we can reach anywhere without physically being involved in the travel. But whatever I think, the ultimate answer seems to be the same, whether there is internet or not, the life goes on. We get busier and busier and it gets difficult to cope with all the life issues, hobies and interests.

The same thing is happening to the authors of this blog i.e, Abdullah and Sanix. I’m getting no time to blog because of the real life hinderances and in the next few days, I’ll be travelling alot. And I’m afraid that I’ll not be able to get to the internet soon .. atleast for a month or so. So I want to inform all my readers that I’ll be away from my blog and will not be able to check my email regularly. Please be patient. Start++

Start++ is an enhancement for the Start Menu in Windows Vista. It also extends the Run box and the command-line with customizable commands.  For example, typing “w Windows Vista” will take you to the Windows Vista page on Wikipedia!

Some more examples:

Typing “sudo” followed by a command will run that command with elevated (admin) privileges. Super handy from the command-line as well!

Advanced functions can work with search results, powered by Windows Vista’s integrated deskto

p search engine. For example,

typing “play radiohead” will find all music that matches the query “radiohead”, compile the results into a .M3U file, and launch it in your favorite media player (actually, it only uses Windows Media Player for the moment, but that will change soon).

Send To Toys is an enhancement of the Send To system menu.
- Send To Toys Control Panel Applet allows you to manage the Send To system menu content, and configure the various Send To Toys settings.
