The person is asking a technical questions. Y the offensive language? You should know that if the user does not understand the first 3 words others do. You just sent a post that millions will read and if you really know your “din” that every time someone reads this it is coming back to you if the reader does not deserve it.

hi
when i open the folder, than show access is denied. and windows not work i conneted to this hdd in another system ,
The problem folder does not have a “Security” tab. If I fo through Folder Options, I do not have a “Use Simple File Sharing” option. Yes, I am the Admin of this system.
What next? How do I gain access to the folder I just created?
will you do the same treatment/resolution when you experience this with a removable drive?
no checkbox, cannot find the “Inherit from parent the permission .. explicitly defined here.” option.
The problem folder does not have a “Security” tab. If I fo through Folder Options, I do not have a “Use Simple File Sharing” option. how do i use ur tip then..plz reply
If the properties of a file does not contain Security Tab. Then Open Folder Options –> View Tab –> Uncheck Use Simple File Sharing
THANK YOU SO MUCH,..
You Are my Savior,..
GODBLESS,..
I have the similar problem and i tried to uncheck “use simple file sharing” but it is not there. So what now?
To resolve this issue, you must turn off Simple File Sharing, and then take ownership of the folder:
1. Turn off Simple File Sharing:
a. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
b. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
c. Under Advanced Settings , click to clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box, and then click OK.
2. Right-click the folder that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message, if one appears.
4. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
5. In the Name list, click your user name, Administrator if you are logged in as Administrator, or click the Administrators group.
You are a STAR !!!!! Thanks 🙂

i am apset due to folder options are no working
Thank you!! Thank YOU!! I had some very important files accidentally get put into a folder that somehow would not allow me in and that fixed it. WHEW!
Thanks a lot for this help. I can able to access the files now which are very important and can not be reconstructed.
I had the – there’s no simple file sharing thing to click on – too. I think that it only appears on XP SP2, not SP3. When I tried it out, I could access it on the older SP, but not the newer.
Thanks!!!!!
I think the simple sharing option is only on XP Professional…
I had the same issue on my XP Home edition, and it sort of solved itself when I right-clicked on the folder, went to Properties -> Sharing, and then just TRIED to share the folder. It didn’t share it, but then it just went ahead and changed the permissions on the folder anyhow. Afterward it was accessible… go figure…
Thanks scirel, didint have the other option mentioned and used yours and it worked!. Thanks
aweb your description worked for me thank you so much…
All I did was to move a folder and then it was not accessible
