Tried this befor using this the virus had created various new folders with new names after using this the multiplying effect has stoped but when you click C drive it gets activated also some exe files with random names are been created in C:\windows\temp and folder by the name of ssvichosst is also been created in C drive kindly advice

Shahan, you should scan your system with a free online virus scanner .. It will remove all the traces of the virus from your system. Only then will you be able to change that value and it will not be changed again.

Blake, when you start your system, keep tapping F8 key for advanced boot options. Select “Last known good configuration” from the options. I hope this will solve your problem.

i have downloaded the process explorer and autorun software..but my win rar extracter is not working
I have tried all the methods/solutions but problem is still there and “The show hidden files and folders was not working at all. If I select the radio button “Show hidden files and folders”, and then press Ok .. the changes would just disappear upon opening the dialog again.”
Earlier i resolved this problem by following your provided set of instructions and Ravemon removing tool. But, the problem is again there, and not removing.

I am facing the problem that show hidden files and folders not working
I have tried to change the registry value but the at the follwing links
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced and the changed value of hidden at right side area from 0 to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL and changed the value of “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) from 0 to 1
It worked & Icould see d hidden files , folders.
But after system restart the same problem occurred again.
I scanned my system with kaspersky antivirus and found not a single virus.
I downloaded the Ravmon Virus Removal Tool 3.1.1.
When I double clicked on it it gave me d message
Congratulations, Your computer seems to be from Ravmon virus .
If you want to restore some windows settings or want to remove the virus from USB Disk, launch the tool now. Select yes to launch or no to cancel.
I choosed
yes
remove virus from from Hard Disk
Again it gave me the message
Error Removng Ravmon Virus
There was an error Removing Ravmon Virus. May be the virus has been removed already. Toget rid of the after effects of this Virus Use the restore windows dfault settings button.
I choosed for default setting settings

Restore all folder option settings
Disable autoplay on all drives
And restarted the system.
I found the same problem
The registry value of hidden & showall was rolled back to 0 again.

Hi there one of the computers(its Windows XP Home) I work with contacted the Ravmon virus. Apart from the normal things this virus hides or disables, it seems to have somehow disabled or hidden Control panel. I used your removal tool and restored most of the the normal things this virus changes, however I cannot get back Control Panel, and when I double click on the c:\ in My Computer it Opens Excel. I cannot right click and go into Properties, it pops up with a error titled “Ristriction” saying “This operation has been cancelled due to ristrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your network Administrator” PLEASE help and tell me how I can resolve this.

The problem you are facing is typically from a illegal antivirus -> Antivirus 2008 Pro.
Fix:
check if you can access regedit tool
if you cannot then you will need to make/update some registry entries from the command prompt
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\
Set the value 0 for the following keys
NoDispCPL
DisableRegistryTools
and…
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
set the value 0 for the keys
NoDrives
NoSetFolders
NoStartMenuMorePrograms
NoToolbarCustomize
StartMenuLogOff
If you are not able to access the taskmanager then you may set the following registrykey
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policy\System\
set the value 0 for the key
DisableTaskMgr
if you are not able to access the regedit tool then open command prompt (windowkey+R > cmd > enter)
in the command prompt enter
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
this will do the first task of setting the registry value 0 for DisableRegistryTools
after this you can use the regedit tool to set the other keys as mentioned above.
further once you get access to taskmgr
kill the antivirus2008pro.exe process
and delete from all locations in your hard disk.
it also creates a folder inside program files named “Anti Virus 2008 Pro” delete that too.
also delete the folder named something_danger created inside windows directory (I forgot the exact name of the folder)

Here is an easy way for removing non deleting newfolder.exe and auto run .exe from removable devices like pen drive,
memory card etc.
Actually this is happening due to a virus called Trojan.Autoit.gen,first off all kill this virus from pc,Lets see how i do that,End process named regsvr.exe from task manager by pressing keys alt+ctrl+del,After then remove this program from pc,for that delete folder regsvr.exe from c:\WINDOWS remove it from recycle bin also,remove from temperory folder,remove from prefetch,clear all internet history cookies etc.After that scan your whole harddisk with a good antivirus

.exe type virus from your pc.After then connect your pen drive but remember one thing scan pen drive and remove virus before

I got a problem since yesterday. the so called virus remover 2008 is loaded in to my labtop while I was downloading materials. Then most of the system becomes unfunctional. well there is one way to remove viruses and malware and that is to do it manualy,click start and click my computer and click your c drive where your programs are and most of the time you can delete most of these programs that have down loaded onto your computer,I dont know if you tried avast which pretty good virus remover but with any virus remover it still doesnt remove everything so must do it manualy

Hi, I have Norton 360 and have just spent 3 hours chat time for them to tell me it will cost me 100 bucks extra to have techs remove trojan.brisv.alinf from my registry. Is there anyone available that could walk me through doing it on my own? I’d certainly appreciate it!!!

Can any one help in telling that which process is cause of folder.exe virus and also for RECYCLER virus. so i can try to kill the process because it is very much danger when you are handling network of lot of pc’s.

There is one guy who teach how to remove a virus manually in simple steps. He just go to the DOS command prompt look for the virus strip down the virus attributes and delete it and its done.
i have a virus named MYSQLI.exe!!!
and i no where it is. can i just delete it manually to the recycle bin and everything will be fine again?

I just recently installed AVG 8.5 and within 2 days I got hit by 31 viruses it is not secure at all and having it for free was a great waste, but atleast it was free. but now my computer has to suffer and so do I so I recommend not gettin AVG even for free. Do not install it because there offers these days for laptops with anti viruses free. Go for Kaspersky or norton the new norton is way kwl and Ive always loved Kaspersky. I think Kaspersky is good cuz it is always constantly scanning in the background and is very discreet doesnt take up much memory to run.

The article is pretty interesting but it is not for newbies. Regular people just use AVG and if it doesnt work they format the whole pc!

I have got a virus called .kozo folder in both of my drives.I tried to remove it using all antiviruse tools like:avast, kaspersky, pcdoctor. and the likes.But still it is there.Its size increases every day.please mail me the way to remove it before i went to the last option ,i.e formatting the pc.
Using Linux (Ubuntu) os insert the pendrive into ubuntu system
Press CTRL +H
“.kozo” appears visible
later rename it as “kozo”
select the folder and Press delete to remove it
